Which Way shall I Take?
THE Word of God, the Bible, tells you that God knows all about YOU. He knows where you live, He knows your name, He also knows the thoughts and secrets of your heart, “…The Lord looketh on the heart” I Samuel 16:7.
Yes, God knows all about you. He knows the good and bad things in your life. All the bad things are sin. To disobey is to sin. No one has to tell us how to be bad, we just are bad. The Word of God says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. You see, you are a sinner and God says, “The wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23. This death means to be separated from God forever and ever. No one likes to be punished, so wouldn’t you like to get rid of your sin?
There is good news for you.
“For God so loved the world.”
Boys and girls, the world means you. Put your name in the blank. “For God so loved ___________________”
“That He gave His only begotten Son.”
The Lord Jesus Christ is God’s Son, God’s Son came from His home in Heaven to this earth to live, grow up, and then to die on the Cross to take your place so you would not have to suffer the punishment for your sin. Jesus was without sin so He is the only One that can take your place.
“That whosoever believeth in Him,”
Now the word “whosoever” means you, it means me. If you believe in Him, believe He died for you, in your place. He will take your sins away and give you a clean heart. Then He, Jesus, will live in your heart always.
In John 1:12 we read, “But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.” You see boys and girls, to believe is to receive Jesus or to invite Him into your heart.
Why not right now bow your head and receive Him into your heart to live. You could pray a prayer like this: “O, God, I know I am a sinner and I know Jesus died for me. I do just now repent and receive Jesus as my own Saviour. Amen.”
Now the Word of God says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your own Saviour, you become a child of God and you will never be punished for your sin. As a child of God you will one day live in Heaven. God now has your name written in His Book, the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Now if you have received the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart you will want to:
1. Know more about Him.
2. Please Him.
3. Tell others of Him.
You can know more…
…about Him by reading His Word, the Bible. You can please Him by talking with Him in prayer. You can find someone and tell them about the Lord Jesus’ coming into your heart and giving you a clean heart. This is the way to grow into a strong Christian.
If you sin after you receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” I John 1:9. Go to Him at once and confess the thing, or things, you did wrong. He will gladly forgive you.
DID YOU RECEIVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST?
