On a journey when one wishes to find the right way, and in the course of doing so finds that it is the wrong one; he or she has to turn back so that the right way may be taken once more. One day we too will have to say good-bye to this “Life Journey.” If you think about it yourself – Which way have you gone?
The Lord with His great love has given us a guide book which is named as the “Holy Bible.” It clearly speaks of the broad way which draws one towards hell and the narrow way which leads up towards Heaven.
Man goes in a life seeking journey along with a good name, riches, power, fame, praise, hatred division, strife, crime, murder, lust, covetousness, slavery and many other sins loaded upon himself. Intentionally, unintentionally or carelessly they are following the way of sin. “There is a way which seemed right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). “Whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them” (II Corinthians 4:4). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
We cannot be set free of even one of our sins by our own strength. Until death, the weight of this will gradually increase. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27) “And I saw a great white throne… And I saw the dead, small and great, stand… and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire (hell)” (Revelation 20:12, 15).
The Holy Bible speaks about a place called hell. “The Lord… is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9). Therefore “…God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Christ Jesus came to this world and healed people with various illnesses and healed many who had evil spirits. He raised the dead back to life. He healed and forgave the ones who repented for their sins. Finally ungrateful men scourged Him in an evil and inhuman way, put a crown of thorns on His head, kept a heavy cross on His shoulders and nailed His hands and feet to the cross and kept Him hanging on it to undergo great pain and suffering. “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree” (I Peter 2:24). He sacrificed His life for you and me. On the third day He conquered death and rose from the grave. “It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us” (Romans 8:34). He is the one with all power in Heaven and in earth, with total dominion; who is the living Savior (Matthew 28:18). “Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
There is only one way, which is Christ Jesus. “I am the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6). “Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). You should turn from the way of sin and come to Jesus and ask forgiveness for your sins. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleans us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:7).
The Lord says unto you; “I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). “He that heareth My words and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24). “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20).
Dear friend, surrender yourself totally to the Lord Jesus Christ. Guide your life in accordance to the will of God. Say this prayer with a heart full of repentance in order to enter into eternal life filled with His complete blessings, joy and peace. “Jesus – creator of the universe, I sincerely repent for the sinful life which I lived and for the paths which I am unable to come out of. Please forgive me. I accept You as the only redeemer and Lord of my life. Guide me to be a true child of Thine and to Thine heavenly paths. I ask all these on my behalf in the name of the Lord Jesus who gave His life. Amen. !
