The Great White Throne of Judgment

The Great White Throne of Judgment

I invite your attention to Revelation 20:11-15.
“And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

The judgment day is a fixed, definite, future event in the calendar of God. There are many things I do not know about the judgment day, but there are many things I do know. I know you’re twenty-four hours nearer to it than you were yesterday. I know you have twenty-four hours less chance to prepare for that judgment than you had last night.

Men may laugh at the fact of the judgment, but remember this, you’ll never laugh the fact away. Every one of God’s predicted judgments in the past has come true on nations, on cities, on individuals. And just as every one of God’s predicted judgments in the past has come true, so every one of God’s predicted judgments in the future is going to come true in spite of all the God-haters, and Christ-rejectors. Every one of God’s predicted judgments in the future is going to come true.

The news has been available for a long time that we will be evacuated, since it is obvious that we are in the enemy’s territory. Some, however, have heard the news so often that they have become hardened to it; others have settled down to make this land their home, and do not wish to leave. Let us review the orders afresh, lest that day catch us unprepared. Indeed, our very orders are to watch, for we know neither the day nor the hour.

Some may think that our withdrawal is a defeat. However, remember this is an age of total destruction. We are to evacuate the area, that the enemy might be completely wiped out. So great will be the attack led by the Commander that the very elements will melt with fervent heat. There will be thunders and lightnings, and a great earthquake. Great plagues will occur. People will be tormented with grievous sores, and be scorched with great heat. The Plans declare that the very isles and mountains will disappear, that the seas will become blood and great hail will occur, each stone weighing about 30 to 50 pounds. Those with the mark of the enemy will drink the wine of the wrath of God and be tormented forever. The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light. The stars shall fall from Heaven, and the powers of the Heavens shall be shaken. Nevertheless, even in those days there will be some who will escape. Since these things must shortly come to pass, and the end of all things is at hand, let us therefore be sober, and watch unto prayer.

There is no denying that there have been terrible losses to our side. Here again, the fault lies directly with us as soldiers, and not with the Commander. Adequate armour and instructions have been given to all. Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world, and we are more than conquerors, through Him that loved us. Yet, some of our group seem to be scarcely aware that we are in a battle. These are the easiest for the Enemy to defeat; many such have been taken captive. Others appear to fight with great zeal, but are really just beating the air. Do not underestimate the Enemy. He is a strong foe, armed, and the prince of the world. It is necessary to have the whole armour of God to stand against his wiles. The main defense seems to be the shield of Faith, and the helmet of Salvation. We must be strong in the Lord, and the power of His might, for our warfare is against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and not against flesh and blood. Victorious soldiers on our side have said that if they submit themselves to God and resist the Enemy, that he has no strength, but actually flees. This accuser of the brethren can be overcome by the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb. The Enemy and his helpers do their best work skulking around in the gloom and shadows; he is a liar from the beginning.

The most encouraging news is that of the Air Lift, which will deliver many into the Home Country without the necessity of going through the route of Shadow Valley. Even here, this good news should cause us to think soberly; are our papers in order? Are we ready to participate? There will be no time to straighten things out when Departure Day comes. Even though hand joins hand, those who are unprepared will be left behind that day. “Therefore be ye also ready,” for that day will come suddenly, and “in such an hour as ye think not.”

“The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” HALLELUJAH! “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others… but let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.” I Thessalonians 5:6,8-10
