Stop and think…
If you were to stand before the judgment seat of Christ tonight, do you know for certain that Christ would say to you, “Enter in?” There is coming a day when every one of us will hear the words of Jesus saying either, “Enter in” or “Depart from Me.”
If you were to meet Christ in judgment today and He should say to you, “Why should I let you enter into Heaven,” what would you say? Maybe you haven’t thought about that very much, but today would you consider very carefully the fact that one day you will stand before God?
The Bible tells you that God loves you and offers eternal life, salvation from sin, and an eternal home in heaven to everyone who meets certain conditions. God so loved the world, all men, that He gave His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for sin, and through that supreme sacrifice, all men can be saved and make heaven their eternal home, if they will accept Christ into their lives by personal invitation.
The Bible says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. Now that includes all mankind, as well as you and me. We have all disobeyed God and turned our back on His will.
The Bible also states, “the wages of sin is death,” eternal separation from God. Sin always pays its wages and you can be sure “your sin will find you out.”
Now, the worst thing is not that man has sinned, but the worst thing is to reject a Saviour from sin and to refuse Christ, who wants to pardon our sin and set us free from its power.
Jesus died on the cross as a payment for sin, and through accepting Christ, we can be declared NOT GUILTY of sin. He died so you and I could be free from sin. When Jesus died on the cross, He bore the penalty for the sins of all mankind who will accept Him as their sin-bearer and as their Saviour. The Bible says, “For He shall save His people from their sins” Matthew 1:21. Now, this is what Jesus will do for us IF we will confess our sins to Him, and invite Him to come into our lives to be our Lord and Saviour.
It is our sins that cut us off from God. We cannot rid ourselves of sin by our own will-power or goodness. The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast” Ephesians 2:8,9. We are not saved from sin by our own efforts; only Jesus can save you, and He will do so when you sincerely repent of your sin and ask Christ to forgive you and set you free. Christ did not die for self-righteous people. He died for sinners, and through His sacrifice on Calvary we can be set free. “Christ died for the ungodly” Romans 5:6.
God has a gift to offer you. It is the gift of ETERNAL LIFE. (Romans 6:23). You can’t earn this gift, but you must either accept it or reject it. The gift of Eternal Life becomes yours when you accept Jesus Christ into your life by personal invitation. Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him” Revelation 3:20.
Today, Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, wanting you to receive Him as your personal Saviour. You can do this today by repenting of your sin, confessing it to Him and inviting Christ to forgive you and enter into your heart. The very desire within you to commit yourself to God now, is placed there by God Himself. Jesus said, “No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him.” So, if you sense God drawing you to Himself now, it means that He wants you to come to Him just as you are.
To receive the gift of God, you must believe in Christ. You must believe that as you confess your sin to Him and as you sincerely repent, He will forgive you and will enter your life. Belief in Christ means to completely trust Him to be your Saviour, counting on His sacrifice for your sin as the payment for your guilt.
We are saved by accepting Christ into our lives by a personal commitmentof ourselves to Him. When we come to Him as a sinner in need of a Saviour, sincerely committing ourselves to Him, then Jesus saves us and makes us fit for Heaven.
Remember, the Bible says, “Today is the day of salvation.” “Boast not thyself of tomorrow.” Jesus is wanting to come into your life RIGHT NOW. Will you open the door and let Him come in today?
