Preparations for His Coming

Preparations for His Coming

As we look upon the world today, we see a scene of darkness and despair. The natural man finds it very difficult to see even a ray of hope in this tragic drama of turmoil and strife. However, we who are God’s children see in it all the fulfilment of the Scriptures, and we rejoice because the coming of Christ is near, yes, “even at the doors.” Now as we realize that the prophetic teachings of the Word are fulfilled and that His coming is at hand, we should be very certain that we are prepared to meet Him. May this tract remind us anew and afresh of His soon return and also cause us to prepare to meet Him.

The first preparation for His coming is this: Be washed.
Revelations 1:5 speaks of Christ and says – “Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.” Yes, dear reader, you must be certain that you have been washed in the Blood of the spotless Lamb of God. Oh how grateful we should be that the Blood of God’s Son is powerful enough to wash away any and every stain sin can ever produce. Isaiah 1:18 says: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.“ May we be most certain that we have been washed in the Blood of Christ, because without this no one can be prepared to meet Him!

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.” Revelations 3:20.

Then to be prepared for His coming we must Be Waiting For Him!
I Thessalonians 1:10 instructs us – “To wait for His Son from Heaven,” and II Thessalonians 3:5 says we are to be “Waiting for Christ.”

Friends, are we really waiting for the coming of the Bridegroom? We should be because it is He who is the “Lily of the Valley”; it is He who is the “Bright and Morning Star.” Oh may we so love Him that we will be waiting for His glorious appearing.

We also must Be Watching for His Coming.
Christ Himself said in Matthew 24:42 – “Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Revelations 16:15 also says – “Behold I come as a thief, blessed is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” May we be watching for Him in these days just preceeding His coming!

And finally, as we realize the imminence of the second coming of Christ we must Be Working for Him!
You will remember the words of our Saviour in John 4:34. Here He said “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me and to finish His work.” Then notice that He said in John 17:4 – “I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me.”

Christian reader, you have been washed in the Blood of Christ; you possibly have been waiting and watching for His return: but today will you not resolve to enter the whitened harvest fields and work for Him who so soon will return?

“When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man. thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity: but his blood will I require at thine hand.” Ezekial 33:8. “Behold, I come quickly: and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelations 22:12,20.
