Do You Know My Friend?

Do You Know My Friend?

Hello, lonely one! Are you looking for a friend? Do you need someone who wants to hear all about your problems and even has a way of solving each one? How would you like to have a friend who invites you to come to see him at your own convenience and insists you stay as long as you want to; a friend who is always ready to encourage you, and then to reward you for your efforts?

Once I was lonely. My friends were fleeting acquaintances, dependable only as long as I had something to give.

Then I met Jesus! A young lady in the waiting room of a dentist’s office introduced me to Him. As she gave me the first tract I had ever received, she asked, “Do you know my Friend, Jesus?”

Her question startled me. I had never thought of Jesus as a Friend. To me, He was unattainable, unreal, and, I might say, unimportant.

I wondered if He could be my Friend, too? My need was great, so I opened my heart and He entered my life. From that moment on, Jesus Christ has been the best Friend I ever had.

Let me tell you how He can be your Friend too. He loves you, even now while you are yet a sinner. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

He invites you to come to Him. “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28

He is waiting for you to make the first move.

Your first move is, admit you are a sinner and need a Saviour. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Next, acknowledge that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. “And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” I Corinthians 15:4

Then accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:31

Now, ask Him to come into your heart and take control of your life. Come to Him in simple faith, trusting Him to forgive and cleanse you of all your sins, false, good and otherwise.

After that, acclaim Him to the world. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10

When you have taken these steps, perhaps you would like to sign your name and the date on the lines provided. If you have doubts about your salvation, your signature will be a reminder that you have fulfilled your part of the contract, and you may be confident that He never fails to fulfill His part.

If you want to know my Friend Jesus, please make that first move now.
